Adrian was born in Ipswich in Suffolk and started playing the trumpet at the age of nine. He studied trumpet with George Reynolds at the Colchester Institute during which he was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and received the Glyn Lewis prize for trumpet. Adrian went on to study with Murray Grieg at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where he graduated in June 2005. In 2004 Adrian went to study in Florida for a term with Bryan Goff at the Florida State Institute on an exchange scheme. Adrian is pursuing a career as a freelance musician and trumpet teacher, and is currently studying for his PGCE in music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching from the Manchester Metropolitan University. He has played for the Britten Pears Orchestra and Baroque Orchestra, and other musical activities include performances with the National Festival Orchestra and the orchestra of the Opera North. In his spare time Adrian is an avid fisherman, although never seems to have mastered the ‘catching’ part of the sport. Emphasis seems to be more on the sitting around, not doing much for hours side of it all! But apparently the ‘one that got away’ was the size of a bus! In December 2006 Adrian married his beautiful wife Rachel (another trumpeter! and teacher) down in Shrewsbury. All at Tempus wish them both a wonderful life together. |
