Composers throughout history have often joined the forces of vocal writing with brass. Early examples use the brass as heralds of war or as a sign of divinity; later examples employ the dexterity and control of modern instruments to create more subtle textures. Works by Gabrielli, Bach, Mozart and Monteverdi all contain brass accompaniment or can easily be arranged to do so.

A perfect example of modern writing for brass and choir is John Rutter's eclectic 'Gloria'. If a choir wishes to perform this with us we are easily able to augment into the the Tempus Brass Ensemble.

Tempus are constantly on the look our for choirs and venues willing to present joint concerts. If you are interested in this idea please contact us for further details.
